Computer cooling is required to remove the waste heat producedby computer components, to keep components within permissibleoperating temperature limits. Components that are susceptible totemporary malfunction or permanent failure if overheated includeintegrated circuits such as Central processing units (CPUs),chipset, graphics cards, and hard disk drives. Cooling may bedesigned to reduce the ambient temperature within the case of acomputer, such as by exhausting hot air, or to cool a singlecomponent or small area (spot cooling). Components commonlyindividually cooled include the CPU, Graphics processing unit (GPU)and the northbridge. Compare different techniques used to cooldesktop computers in a Caribbean environment using a thermodynamicanalysis. Get basic calculations of each technique.
