IR and Ramen spectra ofcrystalline barium rhodizonate have been reported. from aninspection of the data. it was concluded that the rhodizonate ion,C6O62-probably had D6hsymmetry. the other possible structure can bededuced the rhodizonic acid molecule. In the D6h ion there is noC=C compared to the C2hequivalent. Compare two anions and determinewhich anion fits the data shown below.
