Genetic treatment isis gene therapy, which is using genetic material to help fight adisease, it is for the health and well being of the patient.Genetic enhancement is adjusting the genetic makeup of a person byusing genetic material to do so.
Summarize Glannon,Savulescu, and Sandel’s reasons for considering genetic enhancementethically acceptable or unacceptable.
Glannon finds geneticenhancement as an unfair advantage, and is against itethically.  Savulescu finds it important to continue tostrive for the best in terms of enhancement. Sandel believes is isexactly opposite of what Savulescu suggests, as his case stronglysuggests that there are many things wrong with enhancing the humanrace.
I personally believethat Genetic enhancement does give people an unfair advantage, aswe would find people with money to find power in everything aboutenhancing their bodies. We would find men and women who would beunattainable in beauty standards as well as people who aregenetically enhanced much stronger. With strength, this wouldeliminate natural selection in terms of athletes being able to tryout for professional teams, people who have actual natural strengthand abilities, as they would be competing against geneticallyenhanced people who would be more inclined to run faster, or throwharder, etc. We also do not know or understand the implications ofgenetically enhanced people and future generations, as we do notknow what these changes will do with future genetic formulations.What if a genetically enhanced person breeds with a non enhancedperson? What if two genetically enhanced people breed and we findthat it is very detrimental to future viability of the offspring? Ithink it is a very interesting idea, and maybe we should be able tounderstand it more in the future by testing it, BUT I honestly donot feel as though I would ever want to see these kinds of optionsavailable to my children. We spend a lot of years learning toaccept ourselves now, how hard would it be for future generationsto feel desire or greatness in themselves if they were consistentlyfailing in comparison to these altered beings?
