He has to ensure that each college in the country has an equal chance to be selected in order to reach generalization. He gets a list of every college, allocates each a number and uses an online random number generator, produces a list of colleges to which he can send his questionnaire. Example (2) A researcher is interested to know more about the coping strategies of employees working in busy, large companies. Of course, it is not reasonable and possible to visit every company in the country, but accuracy is significant as the researcher is required to give clear explanation of coping strategies and estimate how employees will cope in specific situation. So, the researcher decides to select several geographical locations and then get a list of large companies in each location. He allocates number for each company. Then a list of companies located within each geographical location is selected by using online random number generator. Example (3) A researcher was interested to search about the breakfast eating habits of children in a particular elementary school. She gets a list of all children, selects a starting number, selects an interval number and next works through the list, producing her sample list from children that appear at the correct interval on the list. Example (4) A researcher is interested to search students' willingness in participating in sport. Students are at undergraduate level and form different specialization studying in particular college. The researcher wants to interview students from all specializations in order to find whether there is a link between specialization and participation in sport.
