Your Formal Research Proposal should consist of the followingitems:

• topic andmedium of your project — will you be researching a workplaceproblem or innovation, identifying your specific topic of interest,and will you be presenting your findings in a traditional websiteor a blog
• intendedaudience — what kind of reader do you hope to reach with yourweb-based project, what group of people do you hope to inform,influence, persuade, or entertain through the project your create(employees, managers and supervisors, industry leaders,customers)
• statement ofpurpose – thesis statement, premise of the project, what you hopeto ultimately convey to your audience
• statement ofthe significance of your project – answers the “who cares”question; why is this topic of interest to you, and why shouldreaders be interested in learning more about it
• description ofmethodology – how you will conduct your research, the scope orrange of that research, the type of information you’ll be lookingfor while researching, how you will construct the project and forwhat reason
• statement ofany potential problems you anticipate, either in your research orwriting process, with suggestions for treating them — establishesnecessary solutions, proper preparation, and follow-through
