The spinning Earth is slowing down. Our days are getting longer.The effect is real, and so we have to add \"leap seconds\" to ourclocks every 100 years to account for it. What is causing this?Also, why is the distance between the Earth and Moon increasing?Use physical concepts.

The year is not exactly 36525 days long Our official day is 86400 seconds long I wont go into details on the length of the year itself you can read a wee bit about it here but the year we now use is called a Tropical Year and it is 365242190419 days long With malice aforethought my calculator wont hold that many digits lets round it to 3652421904 So its a bit short of 36525 That hardly matters right    See Answer
