1. I do not believe that most businesses are meeting itsresponsibilities to its consumers. Most companies are more worriedabout making a profit rather than ensuring that their product isready to be placed on shelves. Too many times you see kids itemsthat are not safe or even incorrect labeling which can be just asdangerous. Companies are more worried about quantity over qualitywhich in the end could end up costing them their entire business. In order to do better they should go over the consumer regulationacts that protect its consumers, it will save both them and theconsumers both time and money.
2. I think it depends on the company and what theystand for. If you look at a company like Amazon it relies on thespeed of service to get you the product that you need, however italso heavily relies on customer reviews for quality, competing witha better price than its competition that sells the same or similarproduct and return on product that is not safe for the consumer.Other companies like Dell in the beginning of their product did notreally care for quality and just wanted to be a cheaper alternatedfor computers at the time and it worked well because there was nota lot of computer companies in the beginning, but over time Dellhad to adapt to more quality driven product because of the numbercompanies growing selling the similar product as them. Companiescan do better by constantly testing their product for safety, quality, getting at a lower price point that competitors and investin better package and labeling. Also one of the biggest thing thatsome companies these days seem to overlook is packaging which is ahuge difference between and customer buying or not because if youthink about that’s the first thing the customer sees is thepackaging and labeling.
