a mixture comprised each of benzoic acid pnitroaniline phenoland anthracene will be separated into the individual components byacidbase extractions All components except phenol are soluble indichloromethane CH2Cl2 but only slightly soluble in coldwaterFIrst dissolve all components in Dichloromethane and phenolseperates out leaaving benzoic acid and pnitroaniline andanthraceneYour paranitroaniline is not water soluble Therefore when exposedto water it will crash out You can then collect it by centrifugeand deal with the phenol and benzoic acid which should still be inyour solution Adding bicarbonate will cause the phenol toprecipitate and that may be separated as wellSummaryAdd Dichloromethane CollectphenolAdd waterCollect solid pnitroanalineAdd NaHCO3Collect solid phenolRemaining solution contains only benzoic acidDoneIf complete separation of components is required using Acid    See Answer
