Over the years, the benchmark rate used by many issuers of money and

floating capital market securities has been the LIBOR. However, every soon

this is going to change. Your task is to research the following aspects of

LIBOR and why is it being removed and with what.

What is the LIBOR?

The historical background in relation why was it the most dominate rate

Where was it used and by whom?

How is it calculated?

Did it produce similar rates for other markets?

What has been the major problem with the rate and thus why is it being

changed?

What is the timeline for the change?

What has been suggested as the replacement for the international

markets and for the rates in Malaysia?

It should be appropriately referenced and structured as a report. (i.e. title page,

executive summary, contents, introduction, main body, conclusion, and

bibliography in Arial 12 point). Thus, correctly referenced. There is plenty of
