The adult ICU was occupied with COVID-19patients. During the procedure, I cut the clothes from my patientas the PA stabilized the patient. He used an intraosseous drill toinsert a needle and port into the hip. The physician began feedingthe newly inserted line and taking blood samples as I watched andyearned help more. I was told to differentiate between blood vialsneeded for testing as the ED team worked together in perfectharmony focusing on my patient. It was this precise moment when Irealized I wanted to learn more, and the patient-care oriented PAwas the perfect profession for me.
