Oct 31 Made a compound entry to write off the following accounts as uncollectible: Bernard Klaus, \$700; Teresa Martin, \$250; and Sammy South, \$600. Dec 31 Based on an aging of accounts receivable, estimated uncollectible accounts as $1,100. 1. Record the transactions in the joumal and post to the Allowance for uncollectible accounts and Bad debt expense ledger accounts that have been opened for you. These accounts have beginning balances of $1,800(cr.) and $0, respectively. Remember to update account balances but ignore posting references. 2. The December 31 balance of Accounts receivable is $125,000. Show how Accounts receivable would be reported on the balance sheet at that date.
