In this experiment you will use an online circuit board to buildthree circuits: a series circuit with three resistors, a parallelcircuit with three resistors, and a circuit with a combination ofparallel and series resistors. You will use an ammeter and a voltmeter to measure the current flow and voltage across the resistorsin the circuits. After you record the results of your experiment, you will be able to compare the measurements you take with whatOhm’s Law predicts. You will record the data in the ExperimentWorksheet and answer questions as indicated in the experimentworksheet. Your answers should be presented in a report format.
Series Circuit Set Up
Place a battery from slide 1 in the upper middle portion of theblue work space. Place and connect a switch to the right of thebattery. Place and connect an ammeter to the right of the switch(placing it in-line where we want to measure the amperage). Theammeter can be found in the second box on the right side. Movingvertically, place three (3) resistors from slide 1 in series. Thesewill be referred to as R1, R2, and R3, respectively, from left toright. On the left side, place a wire connected to the left end ofthe battery and running to left and then downward, stretched toabout the same height as the resistors on the right side. Place andstretch a wire running horizontally to connect the left wire andright resistors. Click on the first resistor (R1) and adjust theresistance to 4 Ω. Repeat for the other resistors. Click on thebattery to ensure it is set to 10.0 V. Place a voltmeter across thefirst resistor and measure the voltage.
