Vermilion is an X-linkedrecessive mutation that results in a bright red eye. Brown is anautosomal recessive mutation that results in a brown eye. Fliescarrying both the vermilion and brown mutations produce no pigmentand have white eyes. True breeding Vermilion eyed females arecrossed to brown eyed males
