Given density of water , d = 1 g/mL

Given volume of solution , V = 1 L = 1000 mL

We know that density , d = mass/volume

So mass of water in 1L of solution , m = density x volume

                                                             = 1(g/mL ) x 1000 mL

                                                             = 1000 g

Given density of the solution , d = 1.023 g/mL

Volume of the solution , V = 1L = 1000 mL

So mass of HCl , m = density x volume of solution

                                = 1.023 (g/mL ) x 1000 mL

                                = 1023 g

THerefore the mass of HCl solution is 1023 g
