I have a problem with getting my message clearly across. Whilegiving my speech I like to scan the room to read the audience. Izero in on the people who seem uninterested in what I have to sayand start to panic. Instead of focusing on giving my speech mybrain starts going over every possible reason they might not beinterested. Did I offend them? Am I not using the right words? Inever stop to consider maybe they just aren't as passionate aboutthe topic as I am. In doing so I seem distracted and uninterestedin my own speech. So to the audience, they see that my mind iselsewhere, and start questioning the authenticity of my speech. Istart looking at my feet instead of the audience, I stumble over mywords, and use filler words like \"um\" and the structure of myspeech begins to crumble. The passion and genuineness of my speechis no longer there and my audience is no longer captivated. Thepositive social ques like smiling faces and head nods turn to blankuninterested stares and its hard to come back from that. My biggestweakness is learning how to come back from that. How do stay out ofyour own head and end your speech on the same note you began?
