how to reply to this?
Dollar General is a discount merchandise chain that sells various goods, including laundry, health and beauty, kitchen items, home decor, and food. The Dollar General I frequent the most begins with racks of chips, dips, candy, and other snacks at the entrance but directly across from the register. This location is a great tactic as it entices people when they come in to grab a bag of chips or a snack as they enter. For those standing at the register, it gives the store one more opportunity to reach over and grab something as they check out. I have seen this countless times as I to surrender to the back of ruffles staring at me from the shelf. Once you make it through the snack gauntlet, you have three choices: the left takes you to health and beauty, the right takes you will take you to the laundry, home decor, and cleaner section while going straight will be a continuation of food items. This area is a concern as it creates a bottleneck between the registers and the direction one must take. Often I have had difficulty getting through this area or have been standing in line and having to shift left so incoming customers can get through. Although the tactic in this section is to get someone to pick up a snack upon entering or exiting, shifting the registers farther to the right would help with this issue. Having a separate rack of goodies next to the register would accomplish the goal of last-minute shopping. Heading to the right will yield the various "unmarked" isles of products; Although I can see what is offered when looking down the isles, for someone who does not come to this location often, it would be helpful to have isle marked. This would also help all customers easily find what they came to get. Although Dollar General is a discounted merchandise store, isles are organized to find products when walking down them. The rack of snacks definitely offers the company the opportunity to increase profits. However, moving the register farther away from the entrance and providing Isle labels will help the store layout. The one thing that will cause me to leave a store is spending too much time looking for an item. Providing this labeling system will make finding products more efficient for the customer and creates more time for them to walk through the store and purchase more products than intended. Shifting the register away from the entrance will create better flow upon entering and exiting the store. This better flow will allow customers to reach the products they want to buy instead of becoming frustrated due to the bottleneck at the front of the store.
