The board wants to know how much the company is worth, what can be done to make the company more valuable, why stock price of the company is so volatile, and if it is possible to stop the outside group from taking over the business.

5. Golden Enterprises Inc. is expected to pay a $4.50 per share dividend at the end of this year (i.e., D₁ = $4.50). The dividend is expected to grow at a constant rate of 5% a year. The required rate of return on the stock is, r_s, is 9.2%. Using the constant dividend growth model, what is the estimated value per share of the companys stock?

6. Golden Enterprises has preferred stock outstanding that pays a dividend of $5 at the end of each year. The preferred stock sells for $50 a share. Calculate the preferred stocks required rate of return.

7. Boehm Incorporated currently pays a dividend of $2 per share (D₀ = $2). It is estimated that the companys dividend will grow at a rate of 20% per year for the next 2 years and then at a constant rate of 7% thereafter. The companys stock has a beta of 1.2, the risk-free rate is 7.5%, and the market risk premium is 4%. Calculate the estimated current price of the stock.
