Find the equation of the ellipse with foci at (0, 0) and (2, 2),with eccentricity e = 0.5. Express the equation in standard formax2 + by2 + cxy + dx + ey = f and in terms of the distance formulasqrt(x^2+y^2) + sqrt[(x-2)^2 +(y-2)^2]=?
There is an answer posted on Chegg, but I don't think I agreewith it. Since the foci are at (0, 0) and (2, 2) it seems that themajor axis is rotated 45 degrees CCW. I can find a, b, and c. Idon't understand how to account for the rotation in the formula. Can you help?
