Chemistry

Calculate the weight % of acetic acid in the vinegar. Calculateyour percent error. For this calculation, assume that the densityof vinegar is 1.01g/mL.

0.8488 Molarity of acetic acid in my experiment.

I'm a little confused-if you solve it can you be sure to specifywhat the conversion factors are in the calculations. Thank you!

Density of vinegar = 1.01g/ml

assume volume of vinegar = 1L = 1000ml

mass of vinegar = density * volume in ml

                        = 1.01*1000 = 1010gm

molarity of acetic acid = 0.8488M

assume volume of acetiv acid = 1L

no of moles of acetic acid = molarity *volume in L

                                       = 0.8488*1 = 0.8488moles

mass of acetic acid        = no of moles * G.M.Wt

                                  = 0.8488*60 = 50.928gm

mass percentage of acetic acid = mass of acetic acid*100/mass of vinegar

                                                 = 50.928*100/1010

                                                  = 5.04%

percentage error = Actual mass- calculated mass*100/actual mass

But actual mass not given
