An article in the New England Journal of Medicine described arandomized experiment that investigated the effectiveness of twomedications for nausea in patients undergoing chemotherapytreatments for cancer. In the experiment, 157 patients were dividedat random into two groups. One group of 78 patients were given astandard anti-nausea drug called prochlorperazine, while the othergroup of 79 patients received delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (i.e.,THC, the active ingredient in marijuana). Both medications weredelivered orally and no patients were told which of the two drugsthey were taking. The observed response was whether or not thepatient experienced relief from nausea when undergoingchemotherapy. 16 of the patients taking prochlorperazineexperienced relief from nausea, while 36 of the patients taking THCexperienced relief from nausea. Conduct a significance test todetermine if there is evidence that there is a difference in theeffectiveness of the two drugs
