salicylic acid molar mass = 138 .12 g/mol

acetic anhydride molar mass = 102 .09 g/mol

acetyl salicylic acid molar mass = 180.16 g/mol

salicylic acid   + acetic anhydride --------------------> acetyl salicylic acid + H2O

138.12 g                                                                           180.16 g

   96 g

138.12 g of salicylic acid ----------------------    180.16 g of acetyl salicylic acid

96 g of salicylic acid ----------------------    ?? acetyl salicylic acid

acetyl salicylic acid = 125.22 g --------------- theoritical yield

actual yield = 10.7 g

% yield = (actual / theoritical ) x 100

= (10.7 / 125.22 ) x 100

   = 8.54 %

percent yield of the reaction = 8.54 %
