Focal length f = 44 cm

Image distance v = ( 1/ 4) Object distance

                            = u / 4

we know ( 1/ u ) + ( 1/ v ) = ( 1/ f)

               ( 1/ u ) + ( 4/u ) = ( 1/f)

                5 / u = 1/ f

From this distance of the object u = 5f

                                                       = 220 cm

(b). Image distance v = 55 cm
